Christopher McGuire Description Sister Christopher McGuire ( -1940) started Sacred Heart School of Nursing on September 22, 1930. By 1951, it merged with two other School Sister institutions, Alverno Teacher's College and Alverno College of Music, to form what is now Alverno College. Sister Christopher was head of the school until she passed away in 1940.
